SADC Tribunal conducts the first Stakeholders workshop on the Role of the SADC Tribunal in Regional Integration. The workshop was funded by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. It was officially opened by The Hon Chief Justice of Namibia Mr Justice Peter Shivute.

SADC Tribunal recruits two more local staff namely the Court Clerk and Driver/Messenger.

A dark day in the History of SADC Tribunal. The Tribunal House caught fire and the entire Court room, court equipment and several staff offices were completely destroyed by the inferno. The fire started at 3:00 am and was put off at 6:00 am by the City of Windhoek Fire Brigade.

The Registrar officially reported for work at the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone, Botswana and moved to Windhoek, Namibia, on 14th December, 2006.

The Registrar of the SADC Tribunal Hon. Justice Mankhambira Charles Ching’anyi Mkandawire from Malawi who was appointed in October 2006, was officially sworn in at a swearing in ceremony in Windhoek, Namibia, presided over by the President of the Tribunal Hon. Justice Dr Luis Antonio Mondlane.
1st October, 2006
Four local staff from Namibia namely the Personal Assistant to the Registrar, the Administrative Clerk, the Driver and the Court Orderly,reported for work at the SADC Tribunal in Windhoek, Namibia.
This was followed by the appointment of two regional staff namely the Librarian from Lesotho Mrs Susan 'Mats’episo Moshabesha and the Finance and Administration Officer from Botswana Mr Barudilwe.B. Otimile. The two officially reported for work on the 1st of October 2006 at SADC Secretariat in Gaborone, Botswana and moved to Windhoek, Namibia on 16th October, 2006.
